What the TradinSolutions journal records, how it syncs trades from MT4 and MT5, and how plan adherence, setup expectancy and the weekly review show you why you lose, not just how often. Free tier included.
By E.A. Victor, founder of TradinSolutions.
Short answer: the TradinSolutions journal records every trade's instrument, direction, size, entry, stop, target, exit and the reason the position closed. On connected MT4 and MT5 accounts it fills that in from the broker automatically. You add the part no broker knows: which setup it was, whether you followed your plan, and what you were thinking. It then shows your results per setup, how your rule-following trades compare with your rule-breaking ones, and your worst sessions, days and streaks. The journal is on the free tier; broker auto-import starts on Starter.
Most journals die by week three because typing in every fill is a chore, and the chore gets skipped on exactly the days that matter. The TradinSolutions journal syncs from the linked account instead of waiting for you to type. Entries, stops, targets, fill prices and close reasons arrive from the broker, not from memory.
That leaves you about fifteen seconds of work per trade: tag the setup, mark whether you followed your plan, and add a note if something happened.
The close reason is the field people underestimate. It's the difference between knowing how often you win and knowing why you lost. Where a figure can't be established, the journal says so rather than inventing one.
Connect an MT4 or MT5 account and its closed-trade history and stats sync into the journal automatically. Synced trades carry a synced tag. You can't edit their broker figures, but you can add a strategy, an execution flag and notes to any of them from the Tag button on the row.
Trades copied by the TradinSolutions relay arrive tagged with their source and destination. You can see what the Provider did and what each Follower got, side by side.
You write your rules once: maximum risk per trade, the sessions you trade, the setups you take. On each trade, you mark whether you followed your plan, broke a rule, or partly followed it. The journal turns those marks into a comparison of your rule-following trades against your rule-breaking ones.
The useful output isn't the score. It's finding out whether your rule-breaking trades are systematically your losing ones. If they are, the fix is discipline, not a new strategy. Tag honestly, especially on the undisciplined trades, or the panel can't tell you anything.
An account switcher at the top scopes every panel to one connected account or all of them. Manual entries show under "All accounts", because they aren't linked to one.
Be careful with small samples. Forty trades split across four setups is ten each, which tells you almost nothing about expectancy yet.
Goals: press + Goal to set a target for net profit, win rate or trade count over a month, quarter or year. Goals show as progress bars and update as trades come in.
Weekly review: a card at the top shows the current week's trade count, net P&L, win rate and rule breaks. It asks for one thing: one behaviour to change next week. A single specific line, not an essay.
The routine that works:
Connect each account; the number you can connect depends on your plan. Use the account switcher to review one account or all of them together. If you copy one strategy to four accounts, remember that the same decision now appears four times. Review a single account when judging the strategy, and all accounts when judging your total exposure.
A broker feed can't know why you entered, why you exited early, the target you intended, or whether you were tired or revenge trading. Four different reasons for a manual close look identical in the data. That's why the journal leaves those fields to you, and why they're the ones worth the fifteen seconds. What an automated journal captures, and what it can't
If you cancel a paid plan, your journal history stays readable on the free tier. The pricing page shows current limits.
Is the TradinSolutions journal free? Yes. The manual journal, goals, plan adherence and analytics are on the free tier, with no card and no expiry. Automatic import from the broker starts on Starter.
Does it sync from MT4 and MT5? Yes. Connected MT4 and MT5 accounts sync closed trades automatically. cTrader connects but doesn't sync live history yet.
Can I add notes to synced trades? Yes. The broker figures stay as they are, but you can add a strategy, an execution flag and notes to any synced trade.
Can I journal a prop-firm account that has no API? Yes. Log the trades manually; they carry the same fields, marked as manual.
Does it calculate R multiples? Yes, from entry, stop, size and exit, plus expectancy in R per setup.
